I would like to start a free wireless community in my city

Hello,

I would like to start a Free Wireless community where I live, in Richmond VA
Somthin like NYCwireless, Personal telco in portland etc etc.

My main question/concern, is how to start, where to start ?

from my first thinking about it,
I need first to find a Wireless friendly ISP, for the moment I m using Comcast cable, and I am not suppose to leave my router open.
Sad thing in VA, there is not a lot of ISP...
Second thing I was thinking doing was setting up my first node at my place, using a linksys router, coova, and dogwifi as an auth server
I was also thnking about settings up neighbornode...
3rd... see from there how it goes, and start growing up...

Does any of you have already some experience at doing this, and could share for tips and information ?

Thank You :)

Smart Mobs for Parecon

A scalable social network system using Smart Mobs infrastructure like phones and text messaging can be used for participatory economics:

1) In this system, goods and services are produced according to a plan developed by an iterative procedure of democratic, participatory consumers and producers councils. Smart mobs could optimize the communications and participation at this level.

2) Parecon businesses could use smart mobs by creating a pool of job offers and demands to distribute balanced job complexes in a decentralized way.

I would like to get in touch with people interested in making this an opensource sourceforge project so if you are, or know any one or any anarchist tech collectives that might be interested, let's talk about it/contact me/join the "Participatory Economics" tribe.
